For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given ...
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6
Prince of Peace. He reconciled man to God; He can reconcile men one to another. He can bring peace, to those who trust in Him, to those who take refuge in His name. In our flesh I may be mired in pain and anger, bitterness and resentment, with no escape and no release. But surrendering to God's Spirit in prayer, and calling out to the Prince of Peace, He quiets my heart and gives me rest. I know I can trust in Him. The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. (Proverbs 18:10) To know His name is to know His character. He is the Prince of Peace.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding,
will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7
