2012 Autumn Equinox

Another season is upon us — welcome to Fall!  Got some interesting things going on.  I've teamed up with a fun group of folks who will be putting some costumes together for the San Diego Comic Con next year.  It's an elaborate project, that will involve sculpting, molding, casting, prosthetics, sewing costumes, building stuff, etc.  Since this isn't going to be cheap, either, we're planning to hold a fundraising concert within the next month or so.  So, I've been working up a jazz set, for piano, bass and drums; and my brother will cover the rest of the evening with some rock 'n roll and pop hits.  The venue we're planning on will be the Bacchus Wine Cellar in Irvine, but we haven't booked a date yet.  I'll be sure to post here when we do.

If we have enough time, and if it works out for the venue, we may also have an art auction at the event.  If so, I'll see if I can put together some pieces — most likely medieval illumination, Japanese calligraphy, and some hand-made jewelry.  Gilbert will contrubute a few sculptures, and we have some friends that may donate pieces to sell as well.  If it doesn't work out for this venue, we'll see if we can arrange another occasion.

Another thing I've been working on lately is health and fitness.  In August, I started a diet and excercise program; I've lost 19 pounds in 6 weeks and have brought my BMI back into the “heathy” range.  So I'm very pleased about that.

I feel very blessed.  Jesus says that “your heavenly Father knows what you need before you ask Him.” (Matthew 6:8)  I am grateful for the grace and mercy He has shown me, and for the “exceedingly great and precious promises” we have in Him.  (2 Peter 1:4)

And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and supplication.  They will look on Me, the one they have pierced, and they will mourn for Him as one mourns for an only child, and grieve bitterly for Him as one grieves for a firstborn son.
