Repentance

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
— 2 Chronicles 7:14

This scripture has been quoted publicly quite a bit lately.  Yet those who quote this passage have a tendency to leave out the part that says, “turn from their wicked ways”.  It's crucial to understand that repentance is a necessary prerequisite if our nation is to be delivered from the strongholds of wickedness that have become entrenched in our government and in every other place of power, influence and authority.

Yes, we need to pray.  Yes, we need to earnestly call out to God.  But we also need to repent of our own sins and make sure that we are walking rightly before Him.

Then will God hear from Heaven and forgive our sin and heal our land.

It is the broader task of Christian apologetics to help create and sustain a cultural milieu in which the gospel can be heard as an intellectually viable option for thinking men and women.
